The Pro Players Foundation is a group of professional athletes and business and community leaders, who volunteer their time and talents to assist disadvantaged youth. With the mission of “Enriching the Lives of Children,” PPF uses a variety of initiatives to help make sure every child has the ability to succeed and the opportunity for a bright future.
To date, PPF has helped thousands of children in the North Texas Region with such basics as providing funding for shoes and immunizations to awarding scholarships for camps, providing young athletes with necessary sports equipment and giving gifts of bicycles at the holidays. Pro Players Foundation is a 501(c)3, not-for-profit organization that relies on donations from the community and the partnership of corporate and local sponsors to help achieve its goals.
Current PPF programs and projects include: Instant RePlay - the rejuvenation of existing non-profit, municipal or school sports facilities in disadvantaged neighborhoods; Character Camps - professional athletes conduct day-long instructional clinics in a particular sport interspersed with sessions on a full range of life skills; and, Play it Forward USA - high school athletes collect and refurbish gently used sports equipment of all types which is then donated to leagues, teams and players in need.
The Foundation is comprised of a Board of Directors, an Advisory Board and Pro Players. The Advisory Board consists of business leaders, media representatives and executives from each of the professional sports teams in the North Texas area; Pro Players are current and former professional athletes who seek to go beyond the game to raise dollars and community awareness through direct support of the Foundation’s special events and programs; and the Board of Directors is responsible for day to day operation of the Foundation.
